What changes from one town to the next
The equipment is the same on both sides of the state line. The paperwork, the money, and the houses are not.
Which rebate program applies
In Massachusetts it is Mass Save if National Grid or Eversource supplies your electricity. If your electric bill comes from a municipal light plant, the town may run its own program instead. In New Hampshire it is NHSaves, through your utility. How each one works.
Permits and inspections
Each town has its own building and wiring inspectors, forms, and schedules. We pull the permits the work requires in your town and book the inspections, so you do not have to learn how your town hall works.
Design temperature
Inland towns see colder design temperatures than the coast. The load calculation uses the figure for your town, which is why a system sized for Newburyport may come up short in Westford.
The houses themselves
Triple-deckers and two-families in Lowell, Lawrence and Haverhill; colonials and capes in the suburbs; older farmhouses toward the coast and over the line. In a multi-family, each unit usually has its own utility account, and we plan each unit’s system to match.
